Lucky Stones Wampum Bracelet
A friend of ours gifted us some of these special lucky stones. Have you ever heard of them? These particular ones are from Lake Erie. Here's what is written of them: A lucky stone is actually the unique ear bone or otolith of a freshwater drum, also known as the sheephead fish. The fish's otoliths are quite large and look almost polished and ivory-like. In times past they have been worn as protective amulets, made into jewelry, and traded into areas far from the fish's native range. Lucky stones have been found at ancient archaeological sites, where they are thought to have been used as good luck charms to ward off illness.
I wanted to make a bracelet purely of these "stones," so I did, it only has lucky stones. So pleased with the results and energy of this piece, it is truly special. Sea glass "jewels" not included...
Adjustable from 6"-10".
